Scary Hail and Wind Storm Stories

Halloween is almost here and if you love scary stories, we have a doozy for you! It includes hail, wind, and costly roof damage. The horror! Spoiler – a roof and a wind storm do not mix well!

Do you know what’s even scarier? Most damage cannot be seen from the ground level of your home. That means if your home was hit by severe weather this year it could come back to haunt you. If that doesn’t make you sweat, we don’t know what will.

January

The year started strong with a wind storm on January 10th of the new year. The wind reached up to 73 miles per hour! Also, did you know at 45 miles per hour wind will rip off already loose shingles?

If you live in Flower Mound, Lewisville, Coppell, Hebron, and Carrolton, your house felt the wrath of this wind storm.

March

March signaled the start of hail season, and boy did hail come! On March 19th, Coppell, Carrollton, and Burleson were hit by a hail storm. The hail ranged from being the size of a quarter all the way up to a golf ball!

June

Mother Nature made sure you didn’t forget about her! Moreover, in mid-June, Flower Mound and Lewisville were hit by a large wind storm. Also, the wind tested your roof with up to 73 miles per hour winds!

May

Norman, Pauls Valley, and Elmore City got a surprise hail storm visit on the 4th. In addition, Hail sizes ranged from a golf ball to a tennis ball! Did you know hail can even get that big?

August

Finishing out the summer season, strong winds reached Flower Mound, Grapevine, Double Oak, and more!

The True Horror

2020 was filled with hail and wind storms over the North Dallas area. The cities that got impacted more than once were Coppell, Carrollton, Flower Mound, Grapevine, and Lewisville.
